A community mental health resource directory: abovethewaves.org
My sister Alyssa was the person who seemed fine.
She was capable, warm, and busy holding a lot together. She carried anxiety and struggles she hid well – well enough that most people never knew. We lost her to suicide ten years ago this September.
Most people who are struggling seem fine. That’s the part we don’t talk about enough.

Above the Waves is our small way of changing that. It starts with something simple: putting local mental health resources in one place, so no one has to go searching for help while they’re already exhausted.
The directory lists providers across Manitowoc, Sheboygan, and Green Bay – therapy, psychiatry, coaching, support groups, and urgent care – with phone numbers and websites you can tap right from your phone. It’s free. There’s nothing to sign up for.
September is Suicide Prevention Awareness Month, and October 10 is World Mental Health Day. Both felt like the right time to begin this conversation – and to keep it going long after the month’s end.
You don’t have to be in crisis to deserve support.
